How did Green Can Cleaner start?
Green Can Cleaner started when Ben was sick of constantly cleaning the trashcans. Lisa was fighting Stage IV Lymphoma, and her oncologist taught us how dangerous the germs are around the trash cans. Especially to high-risk people. If you are repulsed by the way your can smells, we feel your pain.
At first, he thought he could just clean them himself. There were certainly parts of the job that weren’t fun. The water splashing up on him or on his face from the can. The smell and feeling worried about cleaning it thoroughly. One particularly hot summer day he was cleaning the cans.
Our Labrador Retriever, Cadence, went running right through all the muck in the backyard. Straight into the house.
Ben thought, “Oh great, now I have to clean the whole house.”
He knew hot water cleans so much better than cold water from a hose. He knew hot high pressure cleaning was infinitely better at powering out the dirt and grime. Better than even the pressure washers he could buy at the home improvement store using cold water. Hot steamy water and a machine that cleaned the cans like a dishwasher. It was powerful technology using advanced pressure washing equipment in a brand-new way. He also knew if we needed the service done right, others did too. Green Can Cleaner was born. If you’ve found us. You are our kind of people. We have been serving the Denver, CO area since March 2018.

How does this work?
It’s really simple. We send you a reminder the day before we come. We come to your house on trash day after the trash is collected and clean your can curbside. All you need to do is leave the cans on the curb for us. We take the mess with us. After we are finished we charge the card on file for the cleaning and send you a text message letting you know they are done.
How soon can I get my cans cleaned?
The sooner you request the service, the sooner we can arrive to clean your cans. We service the entire Denver Metro area. If we are in your neighborhood, we can schedule you as soon as today. Otherwise, it will be schedule the soonest day on your trash pick up, we are in your area. Generally your next trash pick up day.
I sent in a request when will I be scheduled?
We try to reach out as soon as possible to get you all set up. Our awesome office staff works Monday through Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm.
How do I know when you are coming?
We send a text the night before letting you know we will be there between 10am-10pm.
My can has not been cleaned yet and its after 6:00pm. Are you still coming?
If you’re scheduled and received a reminder then yes we are still coming.
We purposefully start our day later to arrive after your trash has been picked up. We are out on the route until 10:00pm. Please leave your cans at the curb for us.
What if my trash hasn’t been picked up when you get here?
We try to time our services to arrive after your trash is picked up. We are out on the route from 10:00am-10:00pm. If we arrive and your cans aren’t empty we will do one of two things. 1. We may come back later in the day if our route brings us back through your area. 2. We may bag your trash in a giant trash back and clean your cans. We return the sealed bag to the can for pick up and leave the cans on the curb for trash pick up.
How will I know my cans have been cleaned?
We send you a text message to let you know we have finished cleaning your cans. We guarantee you’ll know as soon as you smell how fresh and clean they smell when we’re done too.
Is there a contract?
No, we do ask for at least 3 quarterly services or 4 monthly services but there is no contract. We offer On Demand Cleaning if you only need them cleaned once.
Do you use chemicals?
We generally just use hot water. You’d be surprised what pressurized hot water will take off. If there’s something that just won’t come clean we start with the least invasive thing we can and go up from there. The end goal is to leave you with clean cans.
